R E P O R T      to Murray Bridge Gliding Club Inc. – for meeting of 15 th February 2018

Notes on ‘over Murray and lower Lakes’ project

The following has been done:

a proposal has been lodged with RAA that their autumn SA Motor magazine and on-line from 14 February onward will contain a display ad on ‘over Murray & Lower Lakes’ passenger flights at no cost to MBGC
where MBGC undertakes to honour 2 ‘prizes’ of 1 hour passenger flights to be chosen by RAA
a web presence ‘overmurraylowerlakes.wordpress.com’ has been created
pricing has been changed to $180/half hour and $295/hour to match us with Adelaide Soaring Club public offers
club contact listed on the web is    0411 354 361  and    MBGCInc@gmail.com
these contacts are for the public; and over time are expected to also become member booking contact, as these are ‘club’ assets and therefore become separate from individual person contacts who may come and go
contact has been made with ‘experience flight’ booking service. Progressively there will be service agreement, bank detail and Activity Template signed off with them, for bookings to be made via them.

What this means:

BJ has offered that he will, when he is back, do further work on the club website (lt www.murraybridgegc.com) to clear old contacts. He can also update rosters, contacts  and club passenger fees to align to the above.
The club phone and point-of-sale assets need to become operational
Rob may discuss with Steve Blacketer a hosting for the ‘overmurraylowerlakes.wordpress.com’ web presence.
There will be a need for a rolling promotion contact program to get the web presence known.
Members will have wonderful ideas for web, promotion, etc. When you suggest such a thing, be aware that you will have to implement it.

R E P O R T      to Murray Bridge Gliding Club Inc. – for meeting of 15 th February 2018

Notes on January 2019 Scout Jamboree at The Bend project
arising from the meeting at Pallamana on Saturday 20 th January 2018

4 delegates from Scout Gliding Club attended, arriving by car and the Scout’s Super Dimona.
MBGC was able to help in tube repair of the Dimona nose wheel.

MBGC was represented by Steve, Baylee, Peter, Emilis
The meeting fleshed out that the January 2019 event is expected to comprise:
up to 1000 Scout passenger flights, each 20 minutes in duration in level flight, Scout to be introduced to controls and fly the motorglider except instructor take off & circuit/landing; where scout is not there on time, substitute is on standby
10 motorgliders with takeoff every 2 minutes, 12 flights each/day
Scout Assn to provide all ground support, booking, scout to aircraft access/exit, support to pilot; pay ferrying, fuel, GFA fee (up to $35k), and $50/flight
MBGC hopes to provide up to 3 motorgliders GUD, FFN, VKR with airframes with fresh 50hrly ready for sustained use
Scouts to provide spaces for MBGC campervan and caravan, where MBGC will bring aircraft servicing support.
Options for ‘redundancy’ motorgliders suggested – Phoenix, Byron Bay; Scouts will follow up.
MBGC pilots Steve, Greg, Rob, Emilis possibly Baylee, Lindsay as required.

Generally Scouts found MBGC attitude in line and supportive, intimating others approached may not have been.

The hope is that the flightline will bunch similar motorgliders with differing climb/speed/path Dimonas (3)   G109 (3)   Motorfalkes  (4)
All are aware of ambient temperature and crosswind limits, so flying may conclude early before sea breeze or max day temp.
