MINUTES
for the meeting of the
Murray Bridge Gliding Club Inc.
of Thursday 19th February 2015

beginning 7.50pm

2.0  Minutes of meeting of 18th December 2014
moved BJ  sec Ray  accepted

2.1  Items arising
- Safety management system
reviewed by Greg
Rob to do final check and put copies to everyone and in hangar   ROB
Next meeting – attendees to do the actual safety review
- does GFA Director's Insurance covers club safety officer?
GFA have advised Rob yes
- future new T hangar
no response as yet from airfield owner to club letter sent
discussion – develop a budget based on development consent documents
consider this as a hangar repair scheme           ROB       to confer with individuals to progress the project

3.0  CFI report
Further information has been received from airfield owner
The aerobatic box is to be 1km x 1km x 4000’ with formalised circuit process when these are finalized; more information to come
Runways numbers 19/21 to be used and this is part of ERSA contents

4.0  Airworthiness report
Propellor has been paid for, repaired unit yet to be received back
Engine – crankshaft test straight, NDT cracking, cleared for re-build
4-5 week delivery parts, cylinder heads reconditioning by BJ
There will be an engine course 14/3 at Waikerie – plan is for several engines including ours to be re-built by an outside party the week before

Lindsay, Peter, BJ at Pallamana have begun Form 2, more can be done
Rob spoke to Steve – is waiting to do Form 2 when engine is back
Rob advised about Experimental category - Engine function monitoring MGL ‘Extreme-EMS’ 30 hour record rev, fuel, EGT, CHT, manifold/oil temp/pressure  base $950 w/sensors $1,700 AHRS adds $1,000   only install what is approvable – minimum ‘Velocity single E1, TC2’ - $680

Members encouraged to view and comment next meeting.
Either a full record keeping suite or simpler alarm setting to help keep CHT under review and prolong engine operating life.

up to date member list to B.J   done
Member accounts up to date
Discussion that at gliding clubs ‘show GFA card’ on flight line before flight as a way to ensure GFA membership and hence insurances are valid.

6.0  Any Other Business

30 operating in US/southern areas   Czech built   15m   32:1
$150,000 basic    
Discussion on:GFA loan approach to buy second a/c, as FFQ has no sale value retain, member guarantor obstacles, other options – second 109, SF25
Such decisions rely on an agreed club forward direction.
